Bug Description

After my node enlisted, the following was in the DNS zone file:

10-0-0-200.master IN CNAME 10-0-0-200

The .master should not be there. Also, it should probably not write a CNAME since it's the same as the A record but it won't hurt for now.

In fact I think the hostnames should just stop getting the automatic domain names appended. I think this was only done to make mDNS work?

From what I can tell, the '10-0-0-200.master' from the CNAME record is the hostname of the node. So it appears that the hostname of the node contains the domain name.

Correct - this was never fixed properly, the host/domain are being parsed out
for the kernel options.
