Bug Description

A 'Regular' systemtest execution might last on the order of 1-2 hours (http://maas-integration-ci.internal:8080/job/maas-system-tests/)

Occasionally a test continues to run indefinitely, and requires manual intervention, ie:
- http://maas-integration-ci.internal:8080/job/maas-system-tests/1729, aborted after 34 hours
- http://maas-integration-ci.internal:8080/job/maas-system-tests-snap/1265/, aborted after 59 hours

These spikes in test timing appear intermittently, and require further investigation into the common cause.
