Bug Description

I have several documents open in LyX, each with a heirarchy of various headings.

Pressing Alt-N gives me navigation points for the first tab, even when one of the other tabs is open.

Instead, Alt-N ought to help with navigation in the current document.

I think I see what you mean. Is there a reason you think this is an Ubuntu-specific bug, and not a general bug in upstream (LyX) ?

Does this bug have anything to do with a difference between "Alt + N" versus just clicking on the "Navigate" menu? (I'm trying to rule out the possibility that the bug is in the mechanism that translates shortcuts to the menu.

Sorry -- You are right. This has nothing to do with the shortcut.
Choosing Navigate from the menu gives the same problem.
I think it's a LyX bug.

Does that mean I should not have filed it under Ubuntu's LyX package?

Thanks for the quick reply, Christopher. Good to know it has nothing to do with the shortcut.

Yes, we should file the bug upstream to LyX. Deciding whether to file a bug on Ubuntu's bug system or the upstream bug system is a matter of where you think the fix should be made and who you think should make the fix. In this case, it makes sense for the LyX developers to make any fix, because they know the code the best and because the fix is applicable to all operating systems, not just Ubuntu.

To make a bug report or enhancement request go to http://www.lyx.org/trac . We would appreciate any feedback you have for us over there! Thanks a lot for your time and willingness to help improve things.
