Bug Description

Screen goes blank (either screen saver, which is set to 'blank', or display off); when watching a youtube video.
The audio still plays, but the screen is dark.

Not a big deal, I can turn off the power setting on that, but it's just annoying.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions:

* What release of Lubuntu are you using?
* Is this reproducible?
* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?
* Were you using fullscreen to watch, or was it displayed in a window?
* Is there a reason you tagged `lxfind`(a search tool for the LXDE project)?

This will help us to find and resolve the problem.

Latest Ubuntu.
Yes, happens every time. Is a power configuration, (screen off after xxx minutes), not screensaver.
Just set your screen to turn off after a certain time, and spend that time watching a YouTube video in chromium browser.

I was using full screen.

No reason. I did not tag lxfind. Must have been done automatically. I'm not familiar with bugreporting.

It should be an issue related to Lubuntu in general.

Latest stable Lubuntu should be 18.10 or so.
Latest stable Linux kernel.
I didn't use any exotic screen drivers (my laptop has an Intel IGP).

Please be specific in release and please avoid guessing, or terms that could be misinterpreted (like 'should be 18.10 or so').

Yes 18.10 is the latest stable release of Lubuntu, however 18.04 is the latest stable LTS release of Lubuntu.

You also mentioned latest stable kernel; are you using the default kernel that came with your release of Lubuntu?, or have you changed it?

I'm really struggling to understand the steps you took to create the problem or even what the problem is.

By default, Lubuntu is set to run a random screensaver every 10 minutes (the "cycle after" setting) after there has been idling for 10 minutes (the "blank after" setting). Additionally, lxqt-powermanagement is set to monitor idleness and could perform some action after 15 minutes, but it is set to do nothing. That said, I cannot understand how a fresh installation would cause the problems you're experiencing.

Furthermore, you mention different screensaver settings. "Disable Screen Saver" would essentially nullify xscreensaver. At that point you might as well uninstall it. "Blank Screen Only" does not run any actual "screensavers," but instead just blanks your screen. You could also accomplish this through lxqt-powermanagement.

That said, I really don't know what the issue is or how to reproduce it. If you could clearly describe it and give me the steps I could take to reproduce it, that would go a long way in helping to fix it.

Set to lubuntu-meta while we figure this all out.

Or maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree and this has nothing to do with power management/screen savers but has something specific to do with Chromium or YouTube?

How to reproduce this bug is to install any supported version of Lubuntu, connect to the internet, turn on a youtube video, in firefox (chromium and chrome from other bug reports should work as well) and then wait for 15 minutes.

The expected behavior is for the operating system to recognize that media is playing and not to blank/screensave/lock the screen and to continue to serve media.

The behavior experienced is for the screen to blank, a screensaver to come up, or the screen to lock, and or power off.
