Bug Description

The version of couchdb shipped in Lucid does not correctly support replication of data over HTTPS. This means that Ubuntu One users on Lucid are unable to synchronize any data stored in desktopcouch with Ubuntu One. We currently have a build of couchdb 1.0.1-0ubuntu3 in ppa:ubuntuone/stable, but it would be better for this to be in the Lucid backports archive. I have not seen or heard of any complaints from Lucid users running our stable PPA, about couchdb there.

Upgrading dbs with couchdb 1.0 from 0.10 will break the file format though, so we have not been able to get an SRU for this reason.

Thanks.

Doesn't affect rdepends (from #ubuntu-devel):

<dobey> ScottK: python-couchdb and desktopcouch are the ones i'm directly aware of, and the same versions of those are on both lucid and maverick so shouldn't be a problem.

ack from ubuntu-backporters.
