Bug Description
Binary package hint: jetty
Jetty 6.1.22-1ubuntu1 is the standard Jetty distribution on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. However, jetty-plus and jetty-annotations are not included in this distribution. It was first in Jetty 6.1.24-3 that jetty-plus and jetty-annotations were included.
Would it be possible to "upgrade" the standard Jetty distribution on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS to Jetty 6.1.24-3?
This has been confirmed by the Jetty mailing list, and i have been encourages to file a "feature wish" bug.

Set to importance to Wishlist and status to confirmed.
6.1.24 has been synced into Maverick, and so you should be able to obtain source packages and binary packages that work.
https:/ /launchpad. net/ubuntu/ +source/ jetty
I've added this to the lucid-backports bug list, however, according to the rules here:
https:/ /help.ubuntu. com/community/ UbuntuBackports
In the section "How to request new packages" requirement #3.3 will be hard to pass:
"New versions of libraries are strongly discouraged:
If the new version does not break its API and ABI, then it should be fine.
If there is an API/ABI breakage, but it only affects few (1 or 2) packages that can be fixed by rebuilding or backporting, an exception can be made."
Someone will have to confirm that the API did not change between 6.1.22 and 6.1.24
In particular, the solr-jetty package relies on jetty and so would need at least a smoke test.
