Errors always printed to stdout, not stderr

Bug Description

Errors are currenly printed to stdout, which is a bad practice. They should be printed to stderr instead. More info available at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stderr#Standard_error_.28stderr.29

Glib has dedicated functions for printing warnings and errors (like g_debug). See http://library.gnome.org/devel/glib/unstable/glib-Message-Logging.html
