A couple of minutes ago, I stumbled on a WebUpd8 link (http://www.webupd8.org/2011/09/install-lubuntu-software-center.html) which comments about removing all the spaces in LSC.ini file in your ~/.config/lsc/ to correct the error. And well it did!

Has anyone tried it?
