Bug Description

I am running Virtualbox 5.1.26_Ubuntu r117224.

I created a 64bit virtual machine and booted up 64bit iso (lubuntu-next-17.10-beta1-desktop-amd64.iso) and the display is messed up.

However, on the same virtual machine when I run 32bit iso (lubuntu-next-17.10-beta1-desktop-i386.iso) the display is correct and applications are working.

A color-tattered screen...the eternal suffering...

As a workaround you could change with [ralt] + [F1] to the first virtual desktop and with [ralt] + [F7] back. The issue doesn't exist in the installed system with installed guest additions.

Btw., the current version of VBox is 5.1.28. Also you could use like me 5.2.0b3.

Oops, I mean the first virtual console tty1, not a virtual desktop.
