Cleaned up the bug and added lubuntu-next since that project basically encompasses the whole of LXQt. You should file a separate bug for the panel issues, as they most likely affect widgets. Possibly this is beyond the typical scope of the artwork team. We'll see.

For the icons that do not display, please grep an example .desktop file in /usr/share/applications for Icon. Then do an `ls -al` on that location. Does it not exist? Is it a broken symlink? Permission issues, perhaps?

FWIW - I do not think this is a Lubuntu artwork" bug, IMHO it is a lxqt bug.

Upstream discussion - https://github.com/lxde/lxqt/issues/65

Similar Fedora bugs - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1295135

The problem is solved in Fedora with updated lxqt packages, hope it helps you solve the problem in lubuntu-next ;)

Sounds like we need to do some more research to see if these are related. Removing lubuntu-artwork and calling this incomplete.

I can't reproduce this bug. My icons look fine. But sometimes the QtCurve turns icons into blank. Maybe Fusion widgets do this too. Anyway, I think it's not an artwork related problem, if you're using the proper Lubuntu Artwork Daily PPA.

Using ppa:lubuntu-art/daily, the version number (0.58) is behind 0.59
that's in the repos, so perhaps therein lies the rub?

That's odd too. I'll have to check version numbers. But no. That's not
the reason at all, because you can't see Oxygen icons either.

I just spun up an i386 from the alternate xenial image 20160112 and then installed lxqt and everything seems mostly fine. Last time I looked, all the folder icons were missing. So I'll update the arm image I have and see if it doesn't pull something in that doesn't help.

Is this still a problem with the latest Lubuntu Next image?

For now, I will mark this as Incomplete as there is not enough information to reproduce this bug.
