Bug Description

Problem:
The workspace switcher is a power user tool. Ubuntu comes now by default with only a single workspace to less confuse average users. The workspace switcher is much less useful than a software center starter in the default bottom panel.

Solution:
Remove the workspace switcher from the bottom panel and set a single workspace as default. Use the free space to add a software center starter to the panel.

This is not a bug. You can infact do this yourself. Right click teh panel, select add/remove panel items. Remove teh desktop pager and add an application lauchbar, and use the up/down buttons to position it where you want, then add the lubuntu software centre application.

I know I can change it myself - thats not the point → I think having the Software-Center starter there would be a better default.
