Lock screen does not work for Ubuntu DE in 18.04

Bug Description
When you try and lock the screen, nothing happens. In /var/log/syslog, the error message is
Couldn't lock screen: Cannot invoke method; proxy is for a well-known name without an owner and proxy was constructed with the G_DBUS_
Googling a bit, it looks like it is related to gdm not being started, which can't be started as it breaks ltsp.

Installing gnome-screensaver fixes the issue.
