Bug Description

Hello guys,

I'm using LTSP cluster in Ubuntu Precise (12.04) and I'd like to disable the display of ltsp cluster info before login page. Looking at the code, it seems that should be enough to define "SHOW_LTSP_CLUSTER_INFO=N" in "client/etc/ltsp/getltscfg-cluster.conf". However, it's not working because this variable will not be checked in xinitrc script.

Here is a patch which fix the problem:

http://homes.dcc.ufba.br/~italo/z/disable_ltsp-cluster-info.txt

I apologize if this problem was already fixed, but I didnt find any references.

My environment:

-> Server
ii ltsp-cluster-accountmanager 2.0.3-0ubuntu2 Account creation and management daemon for LTSP
ii ltsp-cluster-control 2.0.2-0ubuntu1 Web based thin-client configuration management
ii ltsp-cluster-lbagent 2.0.2-0ubuntu2 LTSP loadbalancer agent offers variables about the state of the ltsp server
ii ltsp-cluster-lbserver 2.0.0-0ubuntu4 LTSP loadbalancer server returns the optimal ltsp server to terminal
ii ltsp-docs 1.0-1 LTSP Documentation
ii ltsp-server 5.3.7-0ubuntu2 Basic LTSP server environment
ii ltspfs 1.1-2 Fuse based remote filesystem for LTSP thin clients

-> Client
ii ltsp-client 5.3.7-0ubuntu2 LTSP client environment
ii ltsp-client-core 5.3.7-0ubuntu2 LTSP client environment (core)
ii ltspfsd 1.1-2 Fuse based remote filesystem hooks for LTSP thin clients
ii ltspfsd-core 1.1-2 Fuse based remote filesystem daemon for LTSP thin clients

Hello guys,

Actually, now I realized that I'm not sure about have seen this variable in the code... or if this is a request for feature. Anyway, I think this is a interesting feature/configuration to be added in ltsp-cluster.

Thanks, Italo.

Hello Italo Valcy,

This applications starts when your thin client is in the root node of the control center.

To prevent ltsp-cluster-info start, you simply need to create a child node and put your thin client in it.

Here is how to do so:

Thanks.
