Bug Description

The number of ICC aware applications under linux grows.
They all need an structure to place commonly used ICC profiles and
configurations. As long as the configuration is not clear at the
moment, this suggestion covers only the storage of colour profiles.

Suggested places in the linux file hirarchy:
/usr/share/color/icc - for globaly installed ICC profiles
~/.color/icc - for user installed profiles

about ICC profiles:
ICC profiles contain primarily device charakterisation data to allow
an application, to change colours in an way different physical devices
match each others colour. For instance an Monitor profile describes
how an special monitors colours beheave. Together with an printer
profile, very accurate monitor to printer matching is possible.

The Xcms interface is in opposite to the ICC standard not deployable
and not usable across platforms.

Discussion:
The discussion about an linux ColourManagementSystem (CMS)
takes partitially place on the public lcms list at sf and
on the private OpenICC list at freedesktop. An more complete
proposal for discussion will published soon on eighter
places.
