Bug Description
According to the spec, pidofproc "shall return" a process ID, and it "shall
return" exit status and zero/nonzero depending on whether the process was
running or not. I was asked in IRC about the precise meaning of this, and we
both agreed that it was confusing.
FWIW, it seems the generally-assumed interpretation of this in implementations
is that the first "returned" implies "on stdout", while the second "returned"
is the pseudo-process return value ($? in shell variable terms).
