Bug Description

I don't know what the production config of the service is (even if i have access to that, as i don't know where it is stored).

My question is if http://oem.archive.canonical.com/ is being archived as well, as those repositories are used by certified desktop installs a lot, and it would be useful to have them archived.

They originally originate from pleora of PPAs, but the oem.archive is the one signed with trusted keys.

lp-archive itself just serves archives based on data retained by Launchpad - it doesn't itself deal with retention.

As far as I know, the OEM archives are all private, so Launchpad already retains the underlying PPA data for them indefinitely (similar to the policy for the primary Ubuntu archive). However, we don't yet have a mechanism for allowing the mirroring and re-signing mechanism to feed its modified metadata files back to Launchpad for retention. This is essentially the same issue as we have with the ESM archives, and that's on our roadmap to figure out this cycle, so hopefully we can sort that out and tackle the OEM archives at roughly the same time.

Changed in lp-archive:
status: New → Triaged
importance: Undecided → Low

Ack. Yes this is the same sort of issue as esm.ubuntu.com end point. (Different suites, different key, URLs/paths) on the public end point versus the private PPA end point.
