(1) Where do we use these?
(2) Do you really think it's necessary to support Python 2.4 with Python 3(000) on it's way?

(1) Twice. See the "launch error" question in the answer section.
(2) Dunno. Python 2.4 was released about three and a half years ago. Didn't know that when I filed this bug. If the incompability issue can be resolved just by removing these two problematic expressions it won't hurt. But otherwise we should advise people to install Python 2.5, agreed.

Just for informational purposes: HellaNZB supports Python 2.3 and newer.

At least I'll make the Debian/Ubuntu package depend on Python >= 2.5.0 for the time being.
