Cannot view a directory by editing urls

Bug #569358 reported by Jasper St. Pierre on 2010-04-24

Bug Description

URLs should be hand-editable friendly. My first instinct to go from "blob/a/b/c.txt" to its parent directory or the root of a repo is to delete the filename portion of the URL, which becomes "blob/a/b/". This does not work in Loggerhead. cgit handles this nicely by having a soft redirect from the incorrect "blob/a/b/" URL to the correct "tree/a/b/".

So there are two separate issues here; the ':' issue - I've not seen a browser that had trouble, and most show it as : in the url bar. Lets then focus on the other issue.

Oh, yeah, a soft redirect is a good idea. :-) Much better than trying to re-work all the controllers into a single "browse" controller.

"Cannot view a directory" -- just want to make it explicit that file redirects from tree, like "tree/a/b/c.txt" should be added too if it's not too hard.
