Bug Description

When there are hard tab (0x09) characters in a file being displayed in the diff window, the tabs are displayed as having a width of 8 spaces. This should be a customisable (and remembered) option so that users can view the diff in the same format that they are used to viewing it in the original file. With a tab width of 8 spaces, a lot of the content of the diff is off the right hand side of the window.

I realize that many people prefer 8 spaces per tab, but would it make sense to use 4 as a default in the diff view as a intermediate action?

http://www.jwz.org/doc/tabs-vs-spaces.html - one good reason not to store \x09 in files is that there will always be programs that interpret it differently to how you want.

However, perhaps loggerhead should accommodate it.
