Bug Description

When I edit the team details I can choose the members of my team on the top of the members list, it's a great feature. But when I see the list, It's really short. I only can see 6 members names. In my team there is 48 active members. I can't find also the missing members in the rest of the list (tried with 5 names).

https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-fr

The particularity of our team is all the direct members in the team are also teams, I don't know if this is the problem.

I'm wondering if the members I can see, are not only the members who already used the loco directory once.

I have the same user list on all the forms where it's used (chairman meetings for example).

Yes, we only create users in loco directory when the log in for the first time, of if they are a team admin or owner.

Ok, why not ...

But, there is a problem with this approach, we are limiting the choice of the users to the ones who used loco directory once. If a team don't use loco directory and don't invite their users to log in, register, comment, whatever, but just use it to make team reports and share what they are doing with the other loco teams, they can't use all the really great features of the loco directory, for example by adding agenda item and designing an owner for the item. It's not really important now, but if we plan in the future to really use loco directory to have the complete team reports, it's a big limitation.

Perhaps a correction could be the possibility to directly enter a launchpad openID url or choose users on a list.

I agree, we should import team member data. I think the original decision was made back before we really had a need for all of it, and there wasn't a justification for such a massive import of data from Launchpad.

Owner is defined by LP unless further changed by the owners. How will users
profiles not existing until a user logs in impact the ability to do a team
report?

Why not promote the use of LD?

I'm refering to the "owner" of an item in the agenda of a meeting (it's field name in the form). If I can only choose users who have log in once in loco directory, i only have 6 users in my team. By the way we don't use our LP LoCo team for having a list of all the french community users/members so it's also really complicated if I have to choose in a very long list of users. We have to improve this ability to add links to profiles (it's always links to Launchpad profiles) and extend it without having the need to use a long list of "known users".

Why not promote LD ? well... always the same... it uses Launchpad exclusively -> Launchpad is in english -> english is not uderstandable by all our users.
