Hi,

Exact same problem. First on Debian Wheezy and now on Arch with Gnome (first time tried Arch). I have an LG E200 laptop with Xpress 1250.

Fonts in Gnome's menu are corrupted by lines. Lines change as font size and hinting is tweaked via Gnome tweak tool but never disappear.

The first time i saw this bug was on Debian Squeeze (old Gnome) but only on fonts that were on Blender's Software Menus.

Changed in debian:

Ah, fount too late cause I searched for x1250.
Seems to be the same problem like my reported #1389655, too...but 2012 and no changes?
What to do with such a laptop, it is still good but there is no working os anymore? Can´t believe...
Is there any solution in sight?
