Bug Description

When I boot Linux Mint 12 32-bit version from live USB created by the Start up disc Creator software or by the Image Writer, I get a error message on boot up: "vesamenu.c32: Not a COM32R image Error message Live USB boot".

The only way to boot is hit TAB, type "live" and press ENTER...

Tested with HP Pavilion dv6-2167el and Acer Aspire One 110.

Had the same error message on an Asus PRO79I, Intel Dual Core – when trying to boot a Linux Mint 12 32bit from an USB stick.

The solution to get around that was to hit TAB, type "live" and hit ENTER (as found here: http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/419)

This bug was reported first in 2012. Now we have 2016 and the bug is still there. I've tested ubuntu 16.04, kubuntu 16.04 ad mint 18, all AMD64. The ISOs were written to flash drive via Unetbootin, GTK start media creator and KDE start media creator and were tested on several different machines. Always the same bug. I would assume this bug as a blocker because a novice doesn't know what to here. In addition when a live system fails to boot at the very first step the impression is very bad. So please fix this!
