Bug Description
After installing Linux Mint 12 I am no longer able to connect to my wireless network via the networking menu on the top panel. The SSID is "56" (without the quotes).
If I go to network settings, select SSID "56", and click "Configure...", the SSID field shows a Unicode control character (0x8 it seems, it's a square with zeros in all corners except the bottom right.
If I click *twice* on "Configure..." I get the "Network Connections" window. There I can remove all references to this SSID and manually create a new wireless connection with the same SSID. This will connect successfully, but it's a really ugly workaround, and re-entering the configuration dialog once again shows the SSID 0x8. Also, the password prompt to reconnect will simply say that it wants the password for the SSID "8" (without the quotes).
