If I had the ability I'd create a few dummy packages for troubleshooting this: one without dependencies, one with dependencies already installed, one with dependencies that can be met but are not installed, one with dependencies that could never be met, and maybe one where the "dependencies are not correctly specified". With these dummy testing packages the error handling could be tested and tweaked as needed so that at least the output is a little more verbose and specific instead of a one size fits all error message.
