Bug Description

LMDE 201108RC - 64bit running on a Sony VAIO laptop (Sony VAIO VGN-SZ5MN/B). A number of times, after clicking upon the Mint Menu button, the outer box of the menu springs onto the screen but the content fails to load. It is as though there is a translucent box over the desktop. Unfortunately (or fortunately), this doesn't happen every time.

I can confirm this bug.

It happens to me most of the time (but not always) right after booting when I click on the Mint Menu button for the first time. After closing the empty box menu, the second time clicking on the menu always brings it up appropriately.

I can reproduce this bug every time I restart my computer. The first click of the MintMenu always brings up this type of empty window.

One thing I noticed as I was taking this screenshot is that when I left my mouse on the empty window, the tooltip for 'Lock Screen' came up ("Requires password to unlock"). I tried to bring up other tooltips but was unsuccessful.
