Bug Description

Running LM 11 katya.

1) Connect to a network
2) Add a VPN service with nm-applet, and choose save passwords.
3) Try connecting. It fails with "no valid secrets"

For nm-applet to pick up such changes, a "killall nm-applet; service network-manager restart; nm-applet" is required.

Issue those commands and your VPN service connects.

Now, nm-applet has similar issues when deleting connections: the changes are not picked up by nm-applet. The above commands "fixes" those isuses, too. But that deserves another bug report :) Leaving it here for documentation in case someone googles this...

forgot to say that this was tested with both
* Cisco vpn service (vpnc) and
* OpenVPN service (openvpn)

both fail until network-manager is restarted.

Could be "service network-manager reload" would work, too. I haven't tried it.

This not only a VPN issue. If you open connection information and for instance unplug a cable the connection is still displayed as active. It is only changed when one reopens the window.
