The Broadcom sta driver worked in ubuntu 10 but wont work in 11. My hardware light does not come on as if the Kernel does not recognize it.

When loading the b4311 hardware light does not activate. It still works with windows 7. It is as if the latest kernel no longer supports this device. It is recognised by restricted hardware drivers and installs fine. However when you restart the light does not come on and it is not in the network tools as it is not turned on. This problem was present with Ubuntu 11 and with Mint 11. Everything works fine in both versions of 10. The only way now to connect to the internet is by loading windows 7 or to plugin to a hardwire connection. This is not convenient on a laptop.
