mint-x is slow in gtk listview

Bug Description
1.Mint version 9. I believe this bug is version independent since it does not happen with other themes.
2. open nautilus, goto /usr/bin/, turn on listview. OR open synaptic, scroll through the packages
3. very slow scrolling in listview in both cases.
4. normal responsive scrolling.
5. always happens in listview.
Icon view is normal.
Possibly the pixmap drawing of the scrollbar is causing this. Other themes uses equinox or murrine to draw. The similar looking theme would be Equinox Evolution Light.

There has not been a fix provided for mint-x in Mint 9 or 11.
Mint 13 cinnamon did not have this problem since it is now uses gtk 3
