The sensors problem.

Now I have installed Linux Mint 9 Xfce on my Acer Aspire One D250. Most things work nice.
One thing works particular better in Xfce compared to the Gnome edition:
That is I can disconnect/connect external power supply without the copmuter going down to sleep mode every time.
It just turns down the brightness a little when powered from battery only, and that's what it's expected to do.

Like the Gnome edition it starts up correctly in live mode. But when it once has been installed it will not show the normal Mint-logo at startup, just an ugly text, "Mint 9".
First this text is seen in the middle of the screen but after a while it turns off and comes up again somewhere more left and up. I really looks bad!

It also complains about something like: "Unable to detect WMID devices"

Then the screen gets dark a long time, until the login-screen appears.

If I however change the colour deep from 8 bit to 24 bits deep I get a too big Linux-Mint-logo for a few seconds during startup.
But after that the screen goes dark and the computer will not start at all.
I am forced to use the power swith an turn it off. (Both the Gnome and the Xfce edition)

Note that Mint 10 Gnome behaves in the same way but - it really manage to start, finally instead of locking up totally.

The only way to get rid of all those problems is to disconnect the battery!!!.
Yes, with ONLY external AC/DC power supply the computer starts up beautiful in all releases.

My idea is that it has to do with the check of sensors at startup. (Plymouth?)
There must be a sensor for battery control. Can somebody who understands the code take a look? Please.

Why can I be sure it's not wrong with the computer?
Mint 8 ME started without any problems and PCLOS 2010 starts without any problems.
Mint DE starts without problems, but of course, it looks very different at startup. (shows text at start)

Perhaps not everybody is affected by this bug, but there still is a serious bug somewhere in the code.

Mint 9 is a LTS-release - it should keep away from serious bugs. And: Does this bug cause other misbehavior?

Probably it has to do with Plymouth as the startup problem does not appear in LMDE. But I can't understand the limitation to just Plymouth when there also are issues when I disconnect the external power connection when the computer is already running.
Something around Sensors and Power management I should also suggest.
To me it seems like the system reacts for external power disconnection as it was "Closing the lid" ?
