Bug Description

Updating from Isadora to Julia in danish a fault came up, telling me that Mintdesktop 3.2.2 has no script. So it was not updated from 3.2.1. I asume that is the reason why I have no icons in my main Menu.

Hi,

No, it's a different issue. For the menu, go in the preferences and adjust the icon sizes.

For mintDesktop you need to create a Default file in /etc/gdm/PostLogin. It's a glitch we fixed in Mint 10, but it's still hurting people until they move to the newer mintDesktop as it's to do with the package's postrm script.

I am currently affected by this bug. What is meant by "create a Default file"? My /etc/gdm/PostLogin directory currently has one file in it (the contents of the file are blank), named: mintDesktop.tmp

Do I need to modify it, delete it, other?

Also worth noting is that I did manually install the mintdesktop 3.2.2 deb before I found this bug on Launchpad. In spite of installing 3.2.2 via deb, Update Manager continues to tell me that I need to upgrade from 3.2.1 to 3.2.2

From the terminal I just ran: sudo gedit /etc/gdm/PostLogin/Default

I then saved the blank text file, ran Update Manager, and now all is well.
