Linux Mint (Fluxbox) 8 on Xubuntu 8.04 LTS with Sun VirtualBox corrupt before login

I regularly use Sun VirtualBox (3.1.6-59338_Ubuntu_hardy) with Xubuntu 8.04.4 LTS (kernel 2.6.24-27-generic).

When booting LinuxMint (Fluxbox) 8 using the LiveCD (download on 07.05.2010 from the official website) in normal mode the boot process seems to be normal until the green lm-icon at the center of the screen disappears and the whole screen becomes messed up with colorful symbols (like when your graphics adapter is damaged and you see symbols of every color before BIOS post or anything else).

Unfortunately after the system is corrupted I cannot access a different tty to login and check logs in »/var/log«.

Ok it worked in safe-mode however and in normal mode after the third try. I guess this invalidates my bug report at this point. I'd like to point out though that my system has been stable in the past and is continously, thoroughly tested. Maybe the ehole thing is a aproblem with Sun VirtualBox.

I do not have the powers to change this bug to WONT FIX state. Someone here at Launchpad either give that permission to me or mark it as such, please. The distribution U 8.04 LTS is EOL (end of life).
