need more info to diagnose. Which browser (and version) are you using, what kind of sites don't have sound (ajax / flash etc.) can you give an example link? Where else (sites/applications) do you or don't you get sound?

Hello Phillip,
I use Opera 10.00 and Firefox's latest version and both have'nt uttered a sound at any location, If I right click on any video it is using Adobe flash player's latest version as well. I'm new to Linux mint or for that matter any linux OS. I am however very proficient with the Window environments as far back as earlier versions of DOS. I find it baffling that I'm having such a problem with sound, none now on DVD's, CD's, Internet videos, etc. When I open Pulseaudio it does show under Volume meter (playback) that there is sound being played indicated by the bars moving. I don't know if that means anything at all, again I'm new to this environment, other than the sound issues I am liking Linux. Point is I am sound dead ! Is there anything else I can send that would help. It seems to be so complicated to just get sound, am I missing certain apps in Adobe? Is it the browser? Is it the hardware? Is it the USB port speakers? Is it the software? So many questions.

Believe it or not, that's excellent news! Because you can show the playback indicators working, I suspect it's just that your sound is muted, see the forums for info, then reply back here if you've solved your problem: www.google.com/search?q=no+sound+site:forums.linuxmint.com
