Bug Description

The wireless adapter does not work. I followed the instructions and installed the drivers. Still it does not work; it says hardware not found. This I find it strange because in linux mint 6 KDE and linux mint 7 gnome wireless works. My machine is DELL Vostro 1310

Thank you for reporting a bug in Linux Mint. Unfortunately I do not have the necessary hardware to reproduce your problem. If anyone else can confirm this bug, please say so. Please check out the Linux Mint Forums, where there are many more people available to help out with diagnosing any problems you have. Please repost this in the forums, and put a link to it here, so I can track any further development. It is also exceptionally useful if you include the output of "inxi -F" when reporting hardware problems. This is a standard response, so it may not be entirely appropriate.

I'm also completely confused by your description. What is your wireless adapter? Which instructions did you follow? If it works in felicia kde and gloria main, then which release doesn't it work in? Need much more information to actually do anything, and I again suggest that you post this in the forums so that more people can help you out.

Thanks for your reply.
I have mentioned in my mail that wireless adapter works fine in Linux
Mint 7 Felicia and Linux Mint 6 KDE.

In known issues it is written that
"If your Wifi adapter doesn't work, launch "Windows Wireless Drivers"
(ndisgtk) from the menu. Linux Mint comes with a collection of drivers
(Broadcom, Atheros, Linksys, etc..) for ndisgtk which are located in
/usr/lib/linuxmint/mintWifi/drivers/i386" (link
http://www.linuxmint.com/rel_gloria_kde.php)

I followed those instructions and still it does not work. Anyway I
will post in the forums also.
