Bug Description

Impressed with Mint 7/Gloria...but the same problem persists: when I re-start from hibernation, my wireless connection is disconnected and I have to re-boot. This problem has been constant from Mint6/Ubuntu 8.10 onwards and STILL hasn't been fixed, which is annoying and frustrating. So I won't be using Mint7, but going back to Mint 5 - where the problem does not exist - until it IS fixed, dammit. And please: don't send me a string of terminal commands to fix this myself. Shouldn't NEED to ...

Thank you for reporting a bug in Linux Mint. Unfortunately I do not have the necessary hardware to reproduce your problem. If anyone else can confirm this bug, please say so. Please check out the Linux Mint Forums, where there are many more people available to help out with diagnosing any problems you have. Please repost this in the forums, and put a link to it here, so I can track any further development. It is also exceptionally useful if you include the output of "inxi -F" when reporting hardware problems. This is a standard response, so it may not be entirely appropriate.

It looks like I made a duplicate of this bug: #1318893. I also am seeing this in Mint 16 and now 17.

Yes this loss of connection aftr hibernate also affect me and my netbook is Aspire ONE.
It would be great if this is fixed. It was mentioned that LM 5 do not have the problem so would comparing the CODE not reveal the problem?
Thanks

I think it would be simple to fix this bug by having a software simulated re plug of the USB dongle. The actual physical re plug works for just about everyone I think with a wireless USB dongle. I am not certain if the reporter here had a USB dongle or internal card.

I am still seeing this bug in Linux Mint 18.2. There has been more than enough time. Why has it not been fixed?

I still see this in Mint 19.2. This bug has been around for more than a decade. Was there not enough information to fix it?
