Bluetooth does not work once you restart or shutdown the computer.

Bluetooth option works and connects once you add the the device. If you restart the computer or shut it down and turn it on the next day, the keyboard and mouse don't work and you have to reconnect them again. It happens every time. This is a irritating problem that was not on the previous versions of 5 or 6. When can this be resolved? Thanks! Derrick

Thank you for reporting a bug in Linux Mint. Unfortunately I do not have the necessary hardware to reproduce your problem. If anyone else can confirm this bug, please say so. Please check out the Linux Mint Forums, where there are many more people available to help out with diagnosing any problems you have. Please repost this in the forums, and put a link to it here, so I can track any further development. This is a standard response, so it may not be entirely appropriate.

If I connect my bluetooth mouse I need to use sudo hidd --search. My mouse is paired but don'tconnect automaticly. If i turn the mouse of and on again i need to search with the hidd again.
I have a Thinkpad-laptop, some people sugested this is due to the IBM energy-management.

Had the same with my Apple Magic Trackpad; filed this problem just today.

Workaround found on askubuntu.com; create folder under the 'lib' folder called 'bluetooth'. IN that very folder, create folder with the mac address of your BT device (via lsinput you can find the mac address). Then in that folder with the mac address name, create (text)file called 'pincodes'. IN that very textfile put unique id (see output of lsinput in terminal) and the pincode on the first line; save your file.

Test it out and it should work; it does for my Apple trackpad!

If you find that you are not being prompted to "Always grant access" and that the device is not available after a reboot (i.e., you have to reconnect), try adding the pincode for the device (0000) to /var/lib/bluetooth/<physical_device_ID>/pincodes, like so:

In a terminal:

Determine the physical (model-specific) and unique device IDs from the output of lsinput (from the "input-tools" package) as shown above.

Create /lib/bluetooth/<physical_ID>/pincodes as the root user (or with sudo):

 # This folder *should* already exist, create it with 'sudo mkdir' if not.
 # You can use TAB to complete, if it's the only Bluetooth device on your system:
 cd /lib/bluetooth/<physical_ID>

 sudo gedit pincodes
Add this line to the new file, save, and exit:
 <unique_ID> 0000
where <physical_ID> is a backslash-escaped physical device ID, like D8\:30\:62\:38\:18\:02, and <unique_ID> is your device's unique ID, both from the output of lsinput.

You all can get bluetooth to work at all?
I gave up on it completely.
I own a large number of bluetooth devices.
After switching from Windows to Linux Mint 17 I cannot use any of them.
I have a bluetooth speaker phone, mouse, keyboard with separate number pad, headset, and other items.
The one piece I need to work is the speaker phone from Altec Lansing.
It has a default pair number of 0000.
It never pairs.
Ever.
