Bug Description

Everytime, I connect on a new network using nm-applet 0.6.5 on Daryna, the hosts file is being overwritten, even if the file is chmod to 444. This is extremely inconvenient.

Not sure against which component/project this should be filed against...

Unfortunately, Daryna reached end of life a few months ago, please upgrade to a later version and see if this problem re-occurs with the newer network manager.

Hey, you can edit the file "/etc/init.d/hostname.sh" an put this at the end:

{
echo "127.0.0.1 localhost"
echo "${IP_ETH_1_IPADDR} ${HOSTNAME}.${DOMAIN_NAME} ${HOSTNAME}"
} >/etc/hosts

And there you can add the lines with the "echo" -command.

The /etc/resolv.conf file is also over-written by Network Manager, even if the file is set with permissions 444. The bug exists in Helena.
