Bug Description
Linux Mint Mate 64-bit V18 Sarah crashes when not given file access permission to my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone.
Sometimes I just want my phone to charge, but don't need to access files on it. So I plug it into a USB cable (other end in computer). Phone asks me if I want to give permission for file access/mounting.
If I say "no", the phone is SUPPOSED to just charge without computer having file access to phone. However, Mint Mate locks up totally if it can't mount my phone. I mean nothing works. Mouse, keyboard, nothing. Just a frozen screen.
So then I have to turn off my computer off and back on to restore functionality, and when it reboots I have to remember to click the choice on the phone that gives computer permission to have file access/mount. As long as the computer has permission to mount, all is well.
I've also experienced this with other devices, such as my Olympus camera.
Pretty much any device with a (battery and memory) that I plug into the computer will trigger the file-permission
It seems to me that saying "no" on my device to file access should NOT crash/lock Linux Mint. It's very inconvenient.
What I expect to happen is to be able to answer (on any device) "no" to file access without locking the computer. Sometimes I only want to charge my phone or camera and don't need file access.
