Bug Description
Description:
I hear white/static noise over all the channels I can plug into (hdmi/analog/
I only do not hear the white noise if gdm/the login screen is displayed without being logged in. If I log into my account the noise is back. Yes, also during the boot process, even in BIOS I hear the noise. Before I had Manjaro on the same box and sometimes the noise was not there. If it came I could restart and use vlc without starting other programs and was safe from the noise. If I recall correctly starting chrome did bring the noise back. With Windows 10, which I had only for a few days on this machine there was no problem.
I googled the shit out of the internet and tried all the tricks I could find. No luck.
This kind of problem haunts me and my experience with Linux on numerous Laptops for more than a decade (Ubuntu/Linux Mint and also Manjaro). Why the f is this still a problem there? Are audio drive that difficult to write? Or are all the (audio) driver devs deaf? This is really horrible for Linux and all the Linux lovers who are experiencing this as well. The rest will probably switch back to the OS they are used to. I'm really sorry for ranting, but this really hurts my feelings as an Linux lover.
Also this sound is not the fan!
What I tried:
- various combinations of drivers for GPUs etc.
- newer kernel
What I try not to do
- switch to another OS
- reinstalling the machine for the 1000th time (I'm sick of it)
