update manager fails when changing icons from png to gif

Bug Description
When using the update manager you are able to change the icons. When changing the icons you have the option to use something other than png. I tried to use a gif and the update manager froze and would not close and eventually caused the system to stop responding. I am running 17.3 rosa with the latest updates from 7 Feb 2017.

I tested this on a virtual machine running 17.3 and ran into the same issue. Although my entire system did not freeze, just the Update manager.
