Bug Description

1. Mint Serena 18.1 "Cinnamon 64bit" also the same issue was present at Tails 2.10, OpenSuse and Lubuntu 17.10

2. After a fresh install the wifi is hard blocked but this laptop model doesn't have a hardware switch. On wifi's with bluetooth the bluetooth works normally despite the fact that the wifi is blocked.

3. All the commands that I looked on the net failed to make it work.

4. I was expecting for the wifi to work out of the box, the usual behavior of all Linux distributions.

5. The problem happen in other distributions as well and happen every single time you boot your machine. The only time that I can recall that this problem was resolved with an awkward way was on my lubuntu 14.04 where I uninstall the wifi applet, install another one, then uninstall the second applet and install back the original applet.

CONCLUSION: I've manage to find a way for the wifi to work every time and that is the following code, might need some polishing out but works.

sudo echo "options asus_nb_wmi wapf=1" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/asus_nb_wmi.conf
