Bug Description

Linux Mint 17.2/17.3/18/18.1 (problem arises in all of these).

I connect my Android phone over MTP, LM opens the folder (for example "mtp://[usb:001,005]/Almacenamiento%20del%20tel%C3%A9fono"), then I try to copy a file from my filesystem to the phone.

I get a window that says:

Error while copying "foo.png".//There was an error copying the file into mtp://[usb:001,005]/Almacenamiento%20del%20tel%C3%A9fono/.//libmtp error: Could not send object info.//Cancel/Skip.

I think that the copy operation should proceed and having my file "foo.png" in phone's memory.

The problem happens always, indeed the copy never worked for me in any of the LM versions mentioned above, that is, from the very first time I used LM.

I can read (copy) files from the phone to the laptop, and I can delete files from the phone.

Related, but not exactly the same: "libmtp error: Could not send object info" when copying content to root MTP folder <https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mtp/+bug/1369651> (I cannot coy to any folder).

I get this when I copy ripped mp3 files from my pc tp my phone.
Most files will tranfer correctly, but on average one in five won't.

Same problem here, also with mp3 files. I use Thunar to copy some folder within `mtp://[usb:001,054]/SD-Card/Music/`, and the first few-ish work, then I get the error dialog, and no matter what I do next, thunar is extremely slow or completely unresponsive in *every* operation, even when I kill the process and open an unrelated folder. My guess is that thunar lists all devices/places/networks, thus accesses libmtp, which locked up. Only disconnecting the device lets me try it again.

Happens on both my systems, both use libmtp 1.1.13.

I just got this error with my Android Nougat phone, trying to transfer files using PCManFM, but the error was resolved when I used Thunar (Lubuntu 14.04 with some xfce components installed)

I had this error while copying a file to my phone. The file name was "Do You Hear What I Hear?.mp3"

It stopped copying 2 mb into the 2.4 mb file.

I removed the question mark from the file name and it copied perfectly.
