Bug Description

I am working on a HP zbook laptop (brand new) with i7, 16 GB RAM, and Nvidia graphics card.
The following problem occurs only with Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon:

After creating a live usb using Rufus on Windows with the mint 18 iso, the system boots successfully into linyx, but after precisely after 20-30 seconds, it freezes EVERY SINGLE TIME like clockwork!

I tried turning acpi=off and setting nomodeset in the boot options but not change.

I'm facing same issue, and I could even not add nomodeset to boot options.

I did some research when I was getting the issue and it seems the hybrid graphics (built in graphics + standalone graphics card) was the issue. However, I did not find a solution to that so I quit working on it.

I replaced Mint with Elementary OS and the nomodeset (more importantly, the aspci) options work like charm. I added those to the bootloader options and it loads flawlessly each time. Although, I cannot get wifi running; only ethernet works on it, but I can live with that.
