Bug Description
I am running Linux Mint 17.3 on a Samsung Ativ Book 8. Since a few days ago, I experience this issue:
1. I turn on the machine
2. Log in to Cinnamon
3. The machine connects to the Wi-Fi
4. After a few seconds--half a minute, wireless disconnects. In the Network Manager applet, Wireless is off.
5. If I now turn wireless on again, everything functions properly, until I turn off and on the machine again.
It is really the last few days that I experience this problem, so if there was a recent change in the driver / networking code, it might be the cause.
uname -a:
3.11.0-12-generic #19-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 9 16:20:46 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
lsb_release -d:
Description: Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa
(btw lsb_release just says "No LSB modules are available.")
Your kernel could be the reason, go to Update Manager, click View and then Linux kernels, scroll down to 3.19.0-32, click on it and then install. Reboot when done. Unless there is a reason you have to use the 3.11 kernel that is a remnant of Linux Mint 16
