Bug Description

I am using Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon 64 bit. I have confirmed this problem on 2 different computers.
I am not very experienced with Linux so I have no Idea if this bug is desktop-related or not.
It is simple to create a WiFi hotspot with the provided Network Manager applet. So I turn my WiFi on and click on create hotspot. I accept the pop-up warning and everything works fine. Network manager lists a new connection named "Hotspot". When I turn the hotspot off, it disconnects and no problems yet. When I want to use the hotspot again, I turn it on the same way as before. Network manager picks up the connection which is already made and no problems there.
The problem is that whenever I want to make any change to the settings of the specific hotspot connection (I click on edit button in Network manager) there is an option to save settings and everything seems fine. Except that no changes are being applied immediately. For instance if i wish to change a password (in case I do not want to use automatically generated one), network manager still shows the old one. And here is the next problem (bug). When I edit any setting for hotspot entry (password, connection type, channel e.t.c.) and save it, the moment I want to turn my hotspot on next time, network manager automatically creates another hotspot entry and uses the new one with default settings. I have tried many things, like editing hotspot entry settings while WiFi on and off, I have tried to reboot computer in between and so on. Nothing seems to work. Its like Network managers hotspot is built to ignore any changes made to the already existing entry and it will always create a new entry, if the previous one has been altered in any way. I have tried deleting the newly created hotspot entries and tried to use the one I have edited, but to no avail.
Is there a way I can edit default hotspot settings and choose my own password and channel for my hotspot?

One comment: the same problem existed on my computer when using Linux Mint Cinnamon 64 bit 17 and 17.1 too.
