Sorry for posting it here, cause I believe it may not be a Mate issue + they do not have a dedicated github issue list for mate-screenshot.
Both Linux Mint 17.1 and Linux mint Betsy 2 MATE edition has this bug.
If you hold down a PrtSc for a second it will start a mate-screenshot like 20x times.
Once I left a headphones on my keyboard pressing a PrtSc it resulted in system crash, because the mate-screenshot app filled up 6.9gbram+7gb of swap.
The shortcut should wait for *hold off* key press and not start mate-screenshot right away.
