Bug Description
Have installed Mint 17.1 on SSD , changed with Disks my Hard disk drive to auto-mount. With next start-up mint gives message unable to mount (UUID is Hard disk drive) and hangs in 4 dots screen. I understand that Ubuntu gives option S(skip) or M(ount?). Now it took me a lot of effort to research (Newbie) then to get Mint in recovery mode, drop to root, mount boot device rw, edit fstab with Nano to remove auto-mounted Hard disk drive (entry). Then it booted just fine.
I am not willing to reproduce, but from my research (comparable error messages with Ubuntu) willing to make a bet you can easily reproduce.
To be sure the bug I am reporting is that there appears no Skip or Mount option as in Ubuntu which gives you at least the option to resume your boot.
Also I am not impressed that auto-mount during boot is not supported but that is maybe not a bug. I also found out that the sideshow during installation (which I tried a couple of times, thank you) can crash the installation, that was easier to research and handle by deleting it, seems also buggy to me but maybe you resolved this already
