I've tested it in my Linux Mint 17 with Cinnamon.
The expected result should to be open my file manager (so Nemo in my case, I have not tested with other variants of Mint, which may be using other file managers and I have no idea if that would work there or not. This should be tested too), when we click the "Show in File Manager" menu item in GIMP, Nemo should be displaying the contents of the directory of the file being currently edited, and highlight the said file.
Actual result: It does not work. The error returned by DBus: "GDBus.
It would be good to implement this standard interface.

Additional note: our tests show that it has been implemented in GNOME and KDE already by the way.
Maybe it is also in recent or dev versions of Cinnamon. I have not tested. :-)
