Bug Description

In Ubuntu and Linux Mint 17.1 Cinnamon restoring the open applications during login no longer works. The auto-save-session setting in dconf-editor does nothing.

How to reproduce:
1. Login to your Cinnamon session
2. Open a few applications
3. Check from dconf-editor that auto-save-session setting is on
4. Log out
5. Log back in
6. Nothing gets reopened

This is a major feature regression and I'd really hope it'll get fixed asap. Using Cinnamon without session restore is horrible.

This bug also exists in Ubuntu Wily. I tested with Cinnamon 2.8 from a PPA.

For now, we can:

    sudo apt-get install dconf-tools
    Run dconf-editor
    org > cinnamon > cinnamon-session
    Check auto-save-session

Hi @SquareRobin. That solution does not work right? I am under 19.3 (tricia) and as it does not work.

I am quite surprised how a feature like this is left unattended...

Hello! I tried @SquareRobin solution and it seems to be working fine, I'm under 20.3 - 5.2.7 Cinnamon.
