1. Open Jokosher, create new project
2. Add Instrument, record it
3. Select Edit => Preferences
4. Change Audio Output Plugin:
Output to ALSA
Device to your default sound card
5. Expected result would be that sound is played
6. In reality, such error message gets produced -
Argh! Something went wrong and a serious error occurred:
Could not open resource for writing.
gstalsasink.c(638): gst_alsasink_open (): /timeline/playbackbin/alsasink1:
Playback open error on device 'value': No such file or directory

If something is using your alsa device, you shouldn't output directly to alsa. You should leave the preferences at autodetect and that will try to use any gnome preferences for a software mixing system like dmix or pulseaudio. I think this is not a bug.

Actually this probably is a bug. It should be selecting device "default" not "value".

I can't reproduce this bug anymore by my own step list, something got fixed or this is really very rare corner case. So I mark this as Invalid.

Changed in jokosher:
status: New → Invalid

For future, Jokosher stores it's playback device in Globals.settings.playback, so if it is malformed, then it could fail like this. However, I didn't find such case when it does so.
