Dual-Boot Installation with Windows 8 Failed due to non-mountable ntfs partition

Bug Description

While installing Linux Mint 17 “Qiana” Cinnamon (DVD install) alongside Wintows 8.1 I selected the custom partition option to specify my /, /home, and /windows partitions. The install failed when it could not mount the /windows partition due to the annoying Windows 8 default hibernation setting.

This would definitely be a problem for new Linux users. We should have a ntfs hibernation check with a dialog pop up giving the option to not mount Windows 8 partitions during dual-boot installations when this problem arises. It could also give the user a quick how-to on the Windows 8 settings to fix this problem. See http://askubuntu.com/questions/145902/unable-to-mount-windows-ntfs-filesystem-due-to-hibernation and refer to the Windows 8 section.

Every time Windows 8 'updates' it resets this disk hibernation back to it's default - which is on. Yes, we all dislike Windows, but this should not trigger an installation fail if we are to win over the reluctant windows user.
